Jebel Rum
JEBEL RUM TRAVERSE
(West - East & summit)
Nabetean route up & Hammad's route down
This route is accessible to everybody. No technical climbing skill is required. It can be
done either in one day or over 2 days, sleeping in the summit plateau.
It is the easiest and very elegant route to Jebel Rum summit. Rediscoverd thamadic route to
the top. Rope is used sparingly for security on some moves.
To go down, we will use the "Hammad's route" - diving to the great siq. My father, Hamad Hamden, discovered this
route which has become the classic way down of Jebel Rum.
We will need to do 6 abseils. We will admire how the bedouins could do it without ropes!

Jebel Um-Ishrin
JEBEL UM-ISHRIN
(West - East Traverse)
Mohammed Musa to Nabatean step
This route is accessible to everybody. No technical climbing skill is required. It has been
named after the late Mohamed Musa who showed it to Tony Howard in the 80's. In the way down you
will use steps carved in the rocks made long ago, probably by Nabateans looking for water in.
It will take us one full day to achieve this route. This beautiful traverse will not bring you
to any summit but will take you through one of the most amazing land scape, in the heart of the mountain.
The walk is some times exposed, the rope will be used for security and for 2 abseils on the way down .

Jebel Khazali
JEBEL KHAZALI
(Sabbahis route north summit)
This route is accessible to everybody. No technical climbing skill is required. It has
probably been climbed thousands years ago, but it has been named since Sabbah Atteq showed it
to Tony Howard in the 80's.
We will take a full day for the route: start in the sand at the
base of the east face of Khazali, and find cleverly the easiest way to the summit plateau.
The summit itself can be reached only by doing one hard move (grade 3 or 4), the
rope will insure you here. After a while spent on summit domes we will get down either
by the same way (shortest) or by another easy canyon (al siq route).
